Mapping a network drive - Clearing the list of names in the drop down box

In order to delete unwanted entries from the drop down box, you have to do it from the registry.

1. Click on ‘Start’. Type ‘regedit’ in the search textbox and select regedit.exe in the search list.
2. This will open the registry editor window. Navigate to the following location by expanding the nodes:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Map Network Drive MRU

3. In the registry window right pane you will see the list of all the history entries.
4. Delete the ones you don’t want.

Important: This method contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully.
